A Fresh Start

Today A.k.a. Chymecindy blog has a fresh start. I have been thinking about this idea for a few months now. I was just so afraid to try new things and say goodbye to the old one. Even though, I know I can handle the change and face the new easily. It was just so hard to do at first. So hard to decide whether I would go for it or just stay in the old for quite some time. However, the time has come that my mind has finally decided to let go and just embrace the new. That wasn’t an easy decision. I kept thinking for months even a year about this change, but the day has come to finally just go for it.

Last week, I’ve made the decision and decided to write Amanda at Living In Another Language. I have been reading her blog for quite a while now, and I notice in her posts that she’s offering a blog transfer, Blogger to WordPress. I wrote to her, she replied and the business had begun. At first, I was very worried about how my site would look like after the switch. She made sure everything will be fine and my current and new theme will look exactly the same. Well, I honestly cared so much about the images. I am very particular in terms of blog posts images. I want them to be straight and aligned, all have the same width. I was surprised when designing and the transfer was done. It was just the way I wanted. Amanda did a great job. She’s amazing, and sweet. I highly recommend her if you want to switch your blog into self-hosted. That was the best decision I have ever made. Seriously, I should have than this a year ago. I have zero knowledge in WordPress, but I know little about html. And I am so willing to learn. I know it’s not that hard. It’s just about being brave, I guess!

So, isn’t it weird? This is my first post on this new start. My blog is now my own and I can do whatever I want to do with it. I own it! Everything is still strange here as this is the first time I use wordpress.org, but I know things will get easier later as I get used to it. Right now, I am so happy and grateful that I am finally here. It wasn’t an easy decision but it’s really worth it.

Here’s to the fresh start of A.k.a. Chymecindy. I hope you love the new site. My readers are so special to me, so thank you all for supporting me and my blog.

Happy weekend everyone!
