Now that I’ve finished the finnish language course what do I do next? I have studied Finnish language for one and a half years now. The first course was peruskoulu where I had studied the language from the very beginning. I studied at Edupoli and the first week was hard because I do not speak finnish and understand nothing. I was in peruskoulu course for about eight months. I have studied only three modules. I went directly to the Valma course in August last year.
Last week we had a school field trip. We went to Järvenpää, a town close to Helsinki. There were two different classes came together in one trip. We went there by bus from Edupoli Porvoo. It was a wonderful day indeed. The sun was shining, but it was not warm yet. We went to a different places but first we went to the school called Keuda.
Learning the Finnish language is really hard. I really find it so difficult to learn even if I am already four years here in Finland. I didnt go to school right away because I chosed to stay at home mom and wait until my child turns three before putting her at daycare. I was a plain housewife and didn’t go to school at all. But I do tried to read books and tried to learn the language at home. I’ve tried enough but still not enough to be good at it. That’s why today I am sharing a lists on how to learn the Finnish language fast.
I can still remember the day I arrived in Finland. It was the 18th day of January 2011. The place was covered with snow and it was very cold. I was so happy and excited that I finally arrived here and be with the guy I believed was meant for me. It was like a dream. Fast forward today. That dream was still a dream sort of. I can’t believe it’s been four years since I moved here. Four years of living with my husband. Four years of living in the other side of the world far away from where I came from, far away from my family. Four years of happiness and nightmares, of excitement and of courage. Four years as an expat in Finland. So many things happened in the last four years.
Today was my mama duty day. I call it mama duty because I will be the one to bring and pick Rianna from the daycare. It’s when hubby has the dayshift work. He have to leave early so it’s my turn to bring our child to the daycare and pick her up after I come home from school.
