I hope everyone has a good Monday!
WELCOME!Hello friends, welcome again to this blog. I decided to start a new blog to document my life as an expat in Finland. This blog is my daily journal where I will document all the daily bits and pieces of my boring and happy life. I will be sharing more about motherhood, baby stories, some recipes, DIY projects and many more. Enjoy your stay and happy reading!
Back to this post, MIDSUMMER refers to a period of time upon the summer solstice. Second important events celebrated in Scandinavian countries aside from Christmas. JUHANNUS päivä in Finland celebrated with feasts, dancing, singing and bonfire. Juhannus as the midnight sun means sun never set at all. Some people celebrated it in their summer cabins having bonfires and get drunk. Cabins usually located on the lakes or nearby seas. People stocked a lot of foods and celebrated the day with lots of fun.
We celebrated the midsummer day at home. We just grilled some pork meat and had picnic outside. And we went to Salttis. Salttis is located near the sea and it’s so nice there. People had fun celebrating the Juhannus. There were dancing, drinking beers, etc. Hubby, baby and i just walked around and took few photos. The sun was so warm and so nice indeed. Everyone had fun celebrating the midsummer.
